It’s been quite an adventure! In 30 years of bespoke joinery and furniture there have been kitchens, staircases, bathrooms, windows, doors and whole period house and barn refurbishments – probably enough to furnish a small village.

 

There were 7 years working on television projects for the Discovery Channel project manager and resident joiner for various programmes including, Ultimate House, Barn Free, Narrow Boat and Cutting Edge Woodworker – my hands haunt obscure day time channels to this day.

 

Moving to Derbyshire three years ago has been a new chapter in the story, new workshop, new beginning in the very historic setting of the old needle mill in Hathersage –  the inspiration for a setting in Jane Eyre.

 

……And a new direction too – time to start specialising in the projects I want to do, making one off pieces of furniture and quality items to order – letting the wood do the talking.

 

Using only sustainable woods from North America, Great Britain and Europe, the unique qualities of each piece helps dictate the finished item and lets me use my imagination and craftsmanship to the full. Oak, Maple, Walnut, Ash, Elm, Poplar/Tulip Wood might turn into tables, clocks, mirrors or desks.

 

At the same time I am also developing a range of items available to order, stools in various woods and finishes, wine racks, beds and tables.
